As part of the realization of the Philippine Air Force future structure program, the Tactical Operations Command (TOC) was deactivated on 01 July 2020 for the activation of Air Combat Command (ACC). Pursuant to General Orders Number 196, Headquarters Philippine Air Force dated 07 April 2020.
The mission of Air Combat Command is to provide forces for tactical air and special operations in support to the accomplishment of the AFP mission. It is composed of the 15th Strike Wing, 710th Special Operations Wing and 530th Air Base Group.
On 04 February 2022, pursuant to General Order Number 43, Headquarters Philippine Air Force dated 15 February 2022, the 530th ABG was detached from Air Combat Command and was transferred under the Air Installation and Base Development Command (AIBDC) along with its base function and facilities. Likewise, the Air Combat Command became a tenant unit of Edwin Andrews Air Base.
The Headquarters ACC is located at Edwin Andrews Air Base, Zamboanga City with MGEN ARAUS ROBERT F MUSICO PAF as the present Commander.
